How It all Began!

ree

My health and wellness journey started many years before I even knew it. My parents insured I had the travel bug at a very young age. Always taking me to new places and learning about different cultures. We all have a love for history and try to see all the ancient ruins or towns that we can. Learning about how ancient cultures lived and what they used for wellness quickly became a focus for me.

I decided to go to university and studied anthropology for two years. I learned about all different types of anthropology, from evolution to liguistics. Studying cultures didnt seem like school because of my love for learning in this field. Although I was enjoying school and what I was learning, something was still missing.

For as long as I can remember my mom has been sick and during university it was looking really bad. The doctors told us that there wasnt much that they could do anymore and she wasnt even really living anymore. Going from someone who was always out doing things and traveling to bedrest was really hard for her. Finally, she tried some things that werent "conventional" in her eyes. She started going to see an acupuncturist and a lymphatic drainage practitioner who were both very focused on spirituality. To everyones surprise, she started to feel better and her disease was no longer debilitating.

I decided that I wanted to go into something that could help people like my mom to get their lives back. I wasnt sure how I was going to do this, but I knew that it was my calling in life.

Once my mom was getting back to a better place in life, we all realized that I had not been doing well myself. I had lost about 15 pounds in a couple months and wasnt doing any exercise or dieting. I was constantly in pain and my joints didnt feel like other people's in their early 20s. After lots of tests and months of trying to figure out what was happening, I was diagnosed with celiac disease. Taking out gluten from my diet, living healthier and the reduction of stress, with my mom doing better, made me feel like a "real person" again. I knew that this was a sign that I needed to enroll in Massage Therapy school. I immedietly loved it.

I knew I was finally doing what I was meant to do, but I had no idea that this would just be the beginning.
